Earth at night seen from orbit — the planetary scale of climate innovation

Climate Accelerators India

India’s climate accelerator landscape is crowded but fragmented — corporates (Maruti, Walmart, Sona Comstar), foundations (Climate Collective, Villgro), and government-backed incubators (AIC-SRM, IIMK LIVE) all run cohorts, and most bundle a non-dilutive grant component with mentorship, pilots, and investor access.

Below are the accelerators accepting applications right now, sorted by deadline. Two close within days — AIC-SRM on 9 August and remove India CDR on 23 August — so act fast if they fit.

How to Apply

Frequently asked questions

Do climate accelerators in India take equity?

It varies. The programs listed on climategrants.in are accelerators with non-dilutive grant components (no equity for the grant portion). Some accelerators offer optional follow-on investment on separate terms — read the funder page.

What’s the difference between an accelerator and a grant?

A grant gives money for a specific project. An accelerator gives money PLUS a structured program — mentorship, pilots, workshops, investor access, demo day — usually lasting 3–8 months. The non-dilutive grant inside an accelerator is often larger than standalone grants.

When do accelerator cohorts open?

Most run 1–2 cohorts a year with fixed application windows. The weekly digest on this site tracks every opening and closing.
