Three things most grant guides will not tell you.
The biggest prizes are the hardest to win pre-revenue. The ₹1 crore prizes pay for verified impact, which is a rung 3 reality, not rung 1. Applying early wastes the cycle and gives you a rejection on file.
Not every seed grant is non-dilutive. Some incubator seed funds convert or attach equity. The ones on this ladder are the clean ones. Before you apply anywhere off this list, ask one question: does this take equity or convert? If yes, it is an equity decision, not a grant decision.
Your win is your application. Every rung's grant is the proof for the rung above it. Keep a one-line 'we won X, here is the outcome' for every grant you close. That sentence wins the next, larger one.

The lowest bar sits on Rung 1. State and incubator prototype grants, like the KSUM Idea Grant at the ideation stage or DST NIDHI-PRAYAS through its 50+ centres, ask for less and decide faster. Easiest is not guaranteed. A sharp problem statement and one clear milestone still decide it.
It varies by scheme, and most funders do not publish a fixed turnaround. Incubator-routed schemes like SISFS and NIDHI-SSS add the incubator's own selection step on top. Check the timeline on each funder's page before you plan your runway around it.
